Lina Alaaeldin Abdelfattah

Lina Alaaeldin Abdelfattah is a Senior Research Associate in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit, based in Cairo. Her research interests include applied economic development, trade, and spatial economics, with a focus on topics relevant to social protection, food, nutrition, and agriculture in the Middle East and Africa.

Bio

Elodie Becquey is a Senior Research Fellow in the Nutrition, Diets, and Health Unit. At IFPRI, she studies the impact of various nutrition-sensitive interventions and programs in Africa. Before joining IFPRI, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow with Helen Keller International and the University of California, Davis, where she served as field coordinator on a zinc supplementation trial among young children in Burkina Faso. As a PhD candidate at the French Institute of Research for Development, she also conducted research on measurement and characteristics of urban household food insecurity and women’s diet diversity in West Africa. Elodie has a PhD in Public Health and a master’s degrees in Epidemiology from Paris-6 University and in Food Engineering from Agrocampus-Ouest, France.
