Gwendolyn Stansbury received her master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University in New York in 1990 and her PhD in 2006 from the University of New England in Australia. Her doctoral dissertation broadly examined the relationship between food and cultural identity and the ways in which innovations (such as new foods) are adopted. Gwendolyn has worked as an adjunct professor, as a writer for various newspapers and magazines in the U.S. and abroad, as a freelance editor for the Inter-American Development Bank’s Research Department, and as managing editor of two magazines in Peru. She has been at IFPRI since 2006.
