Sunny Kim

Research Fellow

Sunny Kim is a Research Fellow in the Nutrition, Diets, and Health Unit. She originally joined IFPRI as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2012.  Her research focuses on evaluating program impacts on maternal and child health and nutrition as well as the implementation processes and uptake of interventions using mixed methods. Sunny’s current work involves the process and impact evaluations of large-scale nutrition interventions, particularly the Alive & Thrive initiative for infant and young child nutrition in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, and Viet Nam, and operational studies of the government’s services for women’s and child health and nutrition in India. Before joining IFPRI, Sunny worked for eight years as a Technical Officer in the Nutrition Unit at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO).

Sunny received her PhD in International Nutrition from Cornell University and her master’s degree in International Health Promotion from George Washington University.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
