Akhter Ahmed is a Senior Research Fellow in the IFPRI’s Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit and Country Representative for IFPRI Bangladesh. He has worked on strategies for agricultural and rural development, social protection, and women’s empowerment to reduce poverty, food insecurity, and undernutrition in developing countries including Bangladesh, China, Egypt, India, Malawi, the Philippines, and Turkey.

Monica Greene is a Library and Information Specialist in the Knowledge Management Team of the Communications and Public Affairs Unit, based in Washington, DC. Monica catalogues IFPRI publications (briefs, reports, etc.), journal articles, and knowledge products. She also provides support to researchers via InterLibrary Loan services.
Before joining IFPRI, Monica spent a decade as a contractor in the federal sector working and volunteering in various special libraries around DC, including The Law Library of Congress, the Defense Health Agency, the National Museum of Asian Art Library, and The Government Publishing Office. She holds a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College.
