Human Resources

The Human Resources Department provides human resources expertise and services to all staff across the Institute to foster an effective and collaborative work environment that supports IFPRI’s vision and mission. We are responsible for attracting, developing and retaining diverse talented individuals who want to make a difference and are committed to sustainably reducing poverty and ending hunger and malnutrition in developing countries.

We incorporate our human resources core values in all our activities and use them as a foundation to achieve our goals.  Our core values focus on providing guidance and support to staff to ensure best practices and consistency across the organization; looking for innovative and more efficient ways to manage our processes; upholding the values of honesty, reliability and sincerity while remaining fair and ethical; providing a high quality of service to staff by being efficient, proactive, approachable and inclusive; and valuing diversity and unique contributions from all staff across the organization.

The HR Department is comprised of five key areas: Talent Acquisition and Retention, Benefits, Compensation and HR Systems, Organization Development and Learning, and Employee Relations.
