Olivier Ecker is an agricultural economist specializing in nutrition economics and food security issues. Olivier received his Ph.D. from the University of Hohenheim (Germany) in March 2009.

Before joining IFPRI as Visiting Postdoctoral Researcher, he worked as Research Associate at the Department of International Agricultural Trade and Food Security in Hohenheim and as Executive Manager of the university’s center of excellence in developing collaboration in food security. Olivier’s current research at IFPRI is on poverty, food consumption, and nutrition analysis and focuses on food security and development strategies for Yemen and Malawi. He is working together with the Computable General Equilibrium Modeling Team of the Development Strategy and Governance Division.
