China Daily published an op-ed authored by IFPRI's Director General Shenggen Fan on impact of trade war between the United States and China. In the article, Fan highlighted that the ongoing trade conflicts have the potential for disastrous outcomes for global agricultural trade. Bringing out the many positives of global trade, Fan wrote, "trade can contribute to improved health and nutrition by diversifying the supply of healthy food and lowering food prices."
