Wim Marivoet joined IFPRI in October 2015 as an Associate Research Fellow in the West and Central Africa Office (WCAO) in Dakar. At IFPRI, he is involved in various projects in the DR Congo covering data collection, dissemination and capacity building, while conducting research on livelihoods, poverty, and food security. Before joining IFPRI, Wim worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Institute of Development Policy and Management (IOB-University of Antwerp, Belgium) where he focused his research more on education, both as a consultant for UNICEF and as an academic collaborator developing an international exchange program for MA students.
Wim Marivoet obtained his PhD in Applied Economics at the University of Antwerp (UA) in 2013 and holds a Master’s degree in Globalization and Economic Development and a Master’s degree in Commercial Engineering from the same university.
