Erick Boy

Erick Boy is the Chief Nutritionist in the HarvestPlus section of the Innovation Policy and Scaling Unit. As head of nutrition for the HarvestPlus Program since 2008, he has led research that has generated scientific evidence on biofortified staple crops as efficacious and effective interventions to help address iron, vitamin A, and zinc deficiency in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and South Asia.

Bio

José Luis Torres Chávez is a Research Analyst in the Nutrition, Diets, and Health Unit, based in Washington, DC. José Luis currently works on an initiative designed to achieve healthy diets, good nutrition, and health in Tanzania and Sri Lanka. He specializes in quantitative research and has worked on issues related to poverty, social protection, women’s empowerment, and food environments.

José Luis, a Mexican citizen, holds a BA in economics and an MA in applied economics from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), Mexico.
