Elodie Becquey

Elodie Becquey is a Senior Research Fellow in the Nutrition, Diets, and Health Unit, based in IFPRI’s West and Central Africa office in Senegal. She has over 15 years of research experience in diet, nutrition, and food security in Africa, including countries such as Burkina Faso, Chad, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, and Tanzania.

Loan Waiver Is Not the Solution (The Hindu)

India’s The Hindu published an op-ed co-authored by Research Fellow Anjani Kumar on agricultural credit policy. In the article, Kumar noted that the recent farm loan waiver scheme may slow down the pace of institutional farm credit, and is likely to pose a challenge to the agricultural growth. The article also referenced a recent IFPRI study on agricultural credit in the country.
