Lilia Bliznashka

Lily Bliznashka is a Research Fellow in the Nutrition, Diets, and Health Unit. Her research focuses on assessing the effectiveness of multi-input nutrition-sensitive and nutrition-specific interventions and the mechanisms through which they work to improve maternal and child health and nutrition globally. She has worked in Burkina Faso, Burundi, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Man who ‘wastes his money’ slammed for expecting partner to buy him food (Newsweek)

Newsweek published an article stating how grocery costs are up around 12 percent from last year in part due to factors such as the war in Ukraine and post-farm factors including processing, packaging, and transporting costs, the impact on families is becoming more apparent. Joseph Glauber, a senior research fellow, told Newsweek: “On average, food expenditures are a small share of overall household expenditures—about 10 percent—but for those poor households in the bottom 20 percent of household earnings, food accounts for about 27 percent of total household expenditures.”
