Danielle Resnick

Danielle Resnick is a Senior Research Fellow in the Markets, Trade, and Institutions Unit and a Non-Resident Fellow in the Global Economy and Development Program at the Brookings Institution. Her research focuses on the political economy of agricultural policy and food systems, governance, and democratization, drawing on extensive fieldwork and policy engagement across Africa and South Asia.

Congress must address glitch in new tax bill (The Hill)

The Hill published an op-ed by Joseph Glauber, in which he voiced concern that a new bill signed by Congress could cause considerable disruptions to the agricultural supply chain. Owing to obscure language that was added to the bill at the last minute, farmers who sell to anyone other than cooperatives could face significant tax penalties. “Lawmakers should address this problem before it causes real damage,” Glauber stated.
