Kinya Kaibung’a is a Research Officer with the Development Strategies and Governance Unit, based in Nairobi, Kenya. She has a keen interest in leveraging machine learning, AI, and other cutting-edge technologies to boost climate resilience and food security in smart agriculture systems.

Experts discuss new farm laws (Times of India)

Times of India published an article on a recent meeting of experts. A host of dignitaries deliberated on putting Farmers first. Senior Research Fellow Purnima Menon said the new agriculture Acts are more from the perspective of supply-chain factors and less from producers, small and marginal farmers. “There is a spatial inequality in terms of how buyers procure and depends on geographical areas.” She added that “the Contract Farming Act will not make any change for the women farmers.”
