Danielle Resnick

Danielle Resnick is a Senior Research Fellow in the Markets, Trade, and Institutions Unit and a Non-Resident Fellow in the Global Economy and Development Program at the Brookings Institution. Her research focuses on the political economy of agricultural policy and food systems, governance, and democratization, drawing on extensive fieldwork and policy engagement across Africa and South Asia.

How growing obesity is increasing health risks, economic burden (The Business Standard)

The Business Standard (Bangladesh) published an article stating that the prevalence of obesity has increased nearly three-fold among women and 1.5 times among men in the country over the past 14 years because of sedentary lifestyles and changing diets, according to a study conducted by IFPRI and various universities and NGOs. The study demonstrated obesity is at pandemic levels throughout the world. The UK and USA are creating programs and convening conferences to figure out policies to fight obesity.
