Danielle Resnick

Danielle Resnick is a Senior Research Fellow in the Markets, Trade, and Institutions Unit and a Non-Resident Fellow in the Global Economy and Development Program at the Brookings Institution. Her research focuses on the political economy of agricultural policy and food systems, governance, and democratization, drawing on extensive fieldwork and policy engagement across Africa and South Asia.

Rising maize prices Hit poor families (The Nation)

The Nation (Malawi) in an article on maize prices, referenced IFPRI’s  Maize Market Report from the Food Security Portal.  According to IFPRI’s October Maize Market Report, the average retail maize price of K235 per kilogram (kg) was 88 percent higher than in October 2018, although prices peaked at K300 per kg or K15 000 per 50 kg bag of maize in Malawi.
