U.S. Ag exports to China on the rise, but not at ‘Phase One’ pace (Successful Farming)

August 27, 2020

Successful Farming reported on the China trade promises. China is stepping up its purchases of U.S. farm exports, but it will not meet the ambitious sales goals of the “phase one” agreement that de-escalated the Sino-U.S. trade war, said USDA data on Wednesday. Senior Research Fellow Joseph Glauber said, “You’re not going to make it. The calendar year falls between $14 (billion in fiscal 2020) and $18.5 (billion in fiscal 2021. Their forecast suggests … (China is) going to fall far short of meeting their calendar 2020 target.”
