Kinya Kaibung’a is a Research Officer with the Development Strategies and Governance Unit, based in Nairobi, Kenya. She has a keen interest in leveraging machine learning, AI, and other cutting-edge technologies to boost climate resilience and food security in smart agriculture systems.

Abdourahmane Sy is a Research Analyst in the Markets, Trade, and Institutions Unit. He has conducted research on agricultural trade in Africa, informal cross-border trade, food security, trade cost analysis, and the economic impacts of trade policies, including the AfCFTA. He is also involved in the development of data tools and visualization applications, notably R Shiny apps for monitoring food prices and early warning systems. Prior to joining IFPRI, Abdourahmane worked as a Statistical Study Officer at the National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) in Senegal, where he managed household surveys and monitoring and evaluation projects. He holds a dual degree as Economist Statistician Engineer and Statistician Engineer from the National School of Statistics and Economic Analysis (ENSAE) in Dakar, Senegal.
