Vartika Singh, a senior research analyst in the National Resources and Resilience Unit, received an Early Career Research Award (3000 USD) to advance her proposed research agenda and visit the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University. This highly competitive award was given by Global-Local-Global Analysis of Systems Sustainability [GLASSNET] hosted at Purdue University, USA.

At the CGIAR GENDER Platform Conference, “From Research to Impact: Toward Just and Resilient Agri-Food Systems,” held October 9-12:
Prapti Barooah and Sonali Singh, senior research analysts in the Natural Resources and Resilience Unit were recipients of awards. 

  • Prapti Barooah won a Best Poster Award for “Understanding drivers and barriers for adoption of climate-smart agriculture through a gender lens: Evidence from India.”
  • Sonali Singh won a Best Poster Award for “From seeds of change to harvesting equality: Women in India’s agroecology based agri-food system.”

 

 

 

Beliyou Haile, a research fellow in the Innovation and Policy Scaling unit, formerly in the Environment and Production Technology Division with Dawit Mekonnen, Jowel Choufani, Claudia Ringler (director of the Natural Resources and Resilience unit and former deputy director in the formerly Environment Production and Technology division), and Elizabeth Bryan (senior scientist, Natural Resources and Resilience, formerly in the Environment Production and Technology division) have been selected to be included in Water Economics and Policy (WEP) Journal Editors’ choice award for 2022 for the paper, Hierarchical Modelling of Small-Scale Irrigation: Constraints and Opportunities for Adoption in Sub-Saharan Africa.
