Gender Task Force

The Gender Task Force was established by the SMT in 2004 as an Institute-wide mechanism to provide researchers across units with the support they need to address gender issues. Since its inception, the Task Force has helped researchers integrate gender into their research, and together they have made significant progress in ensuring that IFPRI’s gender research is greater than the sum of its parts, achieving more collectively than through individual efforts alone. IFPRI’s overall gender strategy is available here.

The Gender Task Force has several priorities. Firstly, the Task Force facilitates two-way communication between the Accelerator and IFPRI gender researchers. It also provides support for integrating gender, youth, and social inclusion in research proposals. As appropriate, the Gender Task Force convenes seminars and/or webinars to encourage mutual learning by gender researchers, as well as shares resources related to youth and social inclusion. Finally, the Task Force conducts outreach; for instance, it disseminates the Gender Highlights from IFPRI Newsletter (sign up here) and engages with other events on youth, adolescents, and social inclusion.

The current leadership of the Task Force is as follows:
