David Spielman

David Spielman is the director of IFPRI’s Innovation Policy and Scaling Unit and has been with the institute since 2004. His research agenda covers a range of topics including agriculture and rural development policy; agricultural science, technology, and innovation; plant genetic resources and seed systems; agricultural extension and advisory services; and community-driven rural development.

Policy Research Conference hosted by IFPRI and University of Central Asia

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the University of Central Asia will host a Research Conference on Agricultural Policy and Food Security in Central Asia, to unveil IFPRI’s new Central Asia Research and Capacity Strengthening Program and to engage national policymakers, researchers, and development partners in its research and capacity-building activities. The Central Asia Program is being implemented in collaboration with the CGIAR Research Programs on Policies, Institutions, and Markets (PIM), and Agriculture for Nutrition and Health (A4NH), both led by IFPRI, and with the Eurasian Center for Food Security at Moscow State University.

Международный Исследовательский Институт Продовольственной Политики (IFPRI) и Университет Центральной Азии проведут научно-практическую конференцию, посвященную вопросам аграрной политики и продовольственной безопасности в Центральной Азии. Цель мероприятия – презентация новой исследовательской программы IFPRI в Центрально-Азиатском регионе и привлечение представителей правительственных структур, науки и партнерских организаций к сотрудничеству в области научных исследований и наращивания потенциала в сфере сельского хозяйства. Центрально-Азиатская Программа реализуется в партнерстве с двумя научно-исследовательскими программами Консультативной Группы по Международным Сельскохозяйственным Исследованиям (CGIAR): «Политики, Институты и Рынки» (Policies, Institutions, and Markets – PIM) и «Сельское Хозяйство для Питания и Здоровья» (Agriculture for Nutrition and Health – A4NH), – обе из которых работают на базе IFPRI; а также с Евразийским центром по продовольственной безопасности Московского Государственного Университета.
