David Spielman

David Spielman is the director of IFPRI’s Innovation Policy and Scaling Unit and has been with the institute since 2004. His research agenda covers a range of topics including agriculture and rural development policy; agricultural science, technology, and innovation; plant genetic resources and seed systems; agricultural extension and advisory services; and community-driven rural development.

IFPRI is participating in the 13th annual Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) –an international conference on central issues of vital importance for global agricultural and food policies hosted by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) in cooperation with the Berlin Senate, Messe Berlin GmbH and the GFFA Berlin e.V.

The conference features an international audience of experts from the worlds of politics, business, science and civil society who come together to discuss and reach consensus on issues and challenges relating to global agricultural policy and food security.
