Eliot Jones-Garcia

Eliot Jones-Garcia is a Senior Research Analyst with the Natural Resources and Resilience Unit based in Washington, DC. His research focuses on human-AI interaction, user-centered design, and the ethical and responsible development of AI. Eliot is currently finalizing a PhD on the digitalization of agricultural advisory services at Wageningen University & Research.

The race to feed Africa during a pandemic (The Economist) 

April 23, 2020


The Economist published an article on food security during the COVID-19 crisis. In the article, Senior Research Fellow David Laborde states, ”Fortunately world food systems today are ‘in a very different situation’ from the crisis of 2007-08,” and further adds, “World food stocks are high. Prices for rice are up, but not to crisis levels.”
