In Balochistan, lives shattered by repeated climate crises (Action Contrela Faim) 

Pakistan has been dealing with food insecurity for a while. Heavy rains have claimed many lives and damaged and destroyed public infrastructure, writes Action Contrela Faim in a report on climate crises in the country. In Pakistan’s southwest province, Balochistan, a heatwave followed by heavy, monsoon rains inflamed an already disastrous situation leading to catastrophic agricultural production and significant livestock losses. This ongoing disaster has heightened food security concerns as the impact of the floods on agriculture was particularly severe. According to the International Food Policy Research Institute, the links between these devastating floods and climate change are increasingly evident and the calls for the responsibility of the most polluting countries in terms of climate change are growing stronger.
