Erick Boy

Erick Boy is the Chief Nutritionist in the HarvestPlus section of the Innovation Policy and Scaling Unit. As head of nutrition for the HarvestPlus Program since 2008, he has led research that has generated scientific evidence on biofortified staple crops as efficacious and effective interventions to help address iron, vitamin A, and zinc deficiency in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and South Asia.

Augustine Iraoya is a Research Analyst in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit. His research focuses on trade, migration, multidimensional poverty, income diversification, rural livelihoods, and food systems.

Prior to joining IFPRI, he was a Research Associate at the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA) where he worked closely with government, local, national, and regional partners on evidence-based research to inform policymaking. He also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria where he oversaw undergraduate students’ field studies and taught microeconomics.

He holds a master’s in Agricultural and Applied Economics from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania, and the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
