Danielle Resnick

Danielle Resnick is a Senior Research Fellow in the Markets, Trade, and Institutions Unit and a Non-Resident Fellow in the Global Economy and Development Program at the Brookings Institution. Her research focuses on the political economy of agricultural policy and food systems, governance, and democratization, drawing on extensive fieldwork and policy engagement across Africa and South Asia.

Home-Grown School Feeding (HGSF) has the potential to transform food systems, strengthen rural economies, and improve child nutrition. This webinar examines emerging evidence on the impacts of HGSF approaches, from local sourcing strategies to multisectoral coordination, with a focus on research from Gambia’s HGSF program and government insights and perspectives from Cambodia’s HGSF model. Speakers will also share insights on where gaps remain, and how targeted research can help optimize models that nourish children and uplift communities.
