The New York Times published an op-ed on the importance of mitigating conflict to reduce poverty and hunger, in the developing world. The article focusses on the Central African Republic, which has been torn apart by civil war and ethnic cleansing for 14 years, and where child mortality and hunger are at alarming rates. It cites the Global Hugder Index (GHI), which found that the Central African Republic is also the hungriest country in the world.
