Lilia Bliznashka

Lily Bliznashka is a Research Fellow in the Nutrition, Diets, and Health Unit. Her research focuses on assessing the effectiveness of multi-input nutrition-sensitive and nutrition-specific interventions and the mechanisms through which they work to improve maternal and child health and nutrition globally. She has worked in Burkina Faso, Burundi, Tanzania, and Uganda.

COVID-19 and food protectionism (VoxEu)

VoxEu published an article asking could COVID-19 lead to a global food crisis? As the virus spreads around the world, there are concerns that global food security could come under pressure according to Senior Researcher David Laborde et al. and Senior Researchers Will Martin and Joseph Glauber.  Although initial conditions in global food markets in the face of COVID-19 pandemic are good, disruptions across countries most affected could reduce global supplies of key staples.
