Nate published an article stating that FAO predicted that Myanmar’s rice production this year will fall below the average of the past five years. Myanmar’s rice production is expected to reach 23.8 million tonnes this year, down 10 percent from the average over the past five years. It is said that the decisive factor is the limited use of fertilizers and pesticides due to the sharp rise in prices.
