Danielle Resnick

Danielle Resnick is a Senior Research Fellow in the Markets, Trade, and Institutions Unit and a Non-Resident Fellow in the Global Economy and Development Program at the Brookings Institution. Her research focuses on the political economy of agricultural policy and food systems, governance, and democratization, drawing on extensive fieldwork and policy engagement across Africa and South Asia.

Evidence from IFPRI suggests that the impact of COVID-19 on food supply chains in developing countries will be felt widely, but evenly. In the IFPRI blog post, How COVID-19 may disrupt food supply chains in developing countries, “Farm operations may be spared the worst, while small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in urban areas will face significant problems.
