Danielle Resnick

Danielle Resnick is a Senior Research Fellow in the Markets, Trade, and Institutions Unit and a Non-Resident Fellow in the Global Economy and Development Program at the Brookings Institution. Her research focuses on the political economy of agricultural policy and food systems, governance, and democratization, drawing on extensive fieldwork and policy engagement across Africa and South Asia.

Report: This year’s national grain output is expected to have a weaker impact on hog farming (Easy Money)

Easy Money (China) published an article on the release of IFPRI’s 2020 Global Food Policy Report (GFPR) and its findings as they pertain to global and China’s food supply. The Report believes that keeping the strategic bottom line of “absolute food security and basic grain self-sufficiency” is the most fundamental competitiveness goal of China’s grain industry.  The Report also covers Africa south of the Sahara and predictions for the agriculture sector. Easy Money, in a second article reported on the findings of the 2020 Global Food Policy Report (GFPR). The article said that the 2020 GFPR  proposes the need to build a food system that is more resilient, more adaptable to climate change, healthier, and inclusive to withstand the rapid global spread of the new coronary pneumonia epidemic and the resulting food insecurity, malnutrition, and increased poverty.
