Where we work

IFPRI currently has more than 600 employees working in over 80 countries with a wide range of local, national, and international partners.

From 2006 to 2020, IFPRI facilitated the Regional Strategic Analysis and Knowledge Support System (ReSAKSS) to support the implementation of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) by providing policy-relevant data, facilitating dialogue among stakeholders, monitoring progress in reviewing goals, and strengthening mutual accountability processes at continental, regional, and national level. Achievements include:

In 2020, IFPRI transferred ReSAKSS to Akademiya2063, an African institution based in Kigali, Rwanda. Many IFPRI staff who worked on ReSAKSS also moved to Akademiya2063 to continue implementing the activities.

Since 2020, IFPRI plays an important role by contributing research and policy analysis in collaboration with Akademiya2063 and by supporting its institutional development and that of similar African organizations. The activities include:

  • Providing institutional support
  • Developing and managing high-quality knowledge products
  • Assisting to deploy state of the art tools for review, benchmarking, and mutual learning
  • Identifying nutrition smart trade and processing options
  • Developing food system crisis observatory and response platform
