Elodie Becquey

Elodie Becquey is a Senior Research Fellow in the Nutrition, Diets, and Health Unit, based in IFPRI’s West and Central Africa office in Senegal. She has over 15 years of research experience in diet, nutrition, and food security in Africa, including countries such as Burkina Faso, Chad, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, and Tanzania.

The goal of “zero hunger” faces “hidden” challenges (China Science Daily)

China Science Daily’s article on ending hunger addressed a variety of challenges. Director General Shenggen Fan stated the causes of the increase in hunger are complex, but regional conflicts and climate change are the main drivers, and multiple burdens of malnutrition play large roles as well. Fan believes a global concerted effort to transform food systems is necessary to promote a healthy diet.
