The Role of Private Philanthropy in Funding Climate Solutions

Linkages Series
Organized by the Network of Engaged International Donors (NEID)

October 23, 2024

  • 12:00 – 5:00 pm (America/New_York)
  • 6:00 – 11:00 pm (Europe/Amsterdam)
  • 9:30 – 2:30 am (Asia/Kolkata)

The Linkages Series is a mini-conference format designed to spark learning and action around current issues shaping the field. Together, they bridge funder, practitioner, & network constellations. Join this virtual conference for a deep dive into how and where private philanthropy plays a key role in funding climate change solutions globally and hear from leaders in the global south that are shaping policy and action about the climate solutions most urgently needed in their communities.

Poor diets are the leading cause of death globally, and the IPCC predicts a further 10% decrease in years of healthy life by 2050 due to the negative impacts of climate change on global food availability and quality. Children bear the brunt; the most severe form of malnutrition- child wasting-is closely tied to food price spikes, which are projected to skyrocket under many climate change scenarios. Join Session Track: Workshop 1, to learn about new multi-stakeholder initiatives to change this story.

Session Track: Workshop 1 (1:00 – 1:45 PM EDT)

  • Speaker: Purnima Menon, Senior Director, Food and Nutrition Policy, CGIAR and IFPRI
