Lilia Bliznashka

Lily Bliznashka is a Research Fellow in the Nutrition, Diets, and Health Unit. Her research focuses on assessing the effectiveness of multi-input nutrition-sensitive and nutrition-specific interventions and the mechanisms through which they work to improve maternal and child health and nutrition globally. She has worked in Burkina Faso, Burundi, Tanzania, and Uganda.

African unity could help free continent from hunger (Sowetan Live)

Sowetan Live published an article about how the continent has flocked together to manage the health crisis, but it remains to be seen if this will translate to preventing a food crisis. Over the past 15 years, several African countries have reduced malnutrition significantly. Some by as much as 50%, according to IFPRI. However, Covid-19 threatens to reverse some of this.
