Danielle Resnick

Danielle Resnick is a Senior Research Fellow in the Markets, Trade, and Institutions Unit and a Non-Resident Fellow in the Global Economy and Development Program at the Brookings Institution. Her research focuses on the political economy of agricultural policy and food systems, governance, and democratization, drawing on extensive fieldwork and policy engagement across Africa and South Asia.

Impact study demonstrates Bt brinjal (eggplant) helps farmers earn more with less pesticide (AgriLinks)

AgriLinks (USA) published an op-ed by Senior Research Fellow Akhter Ahmed outlining the results from an independent impact evaluation, Impacts of Bt Brinjal (Eggplant) Technology in Bangladesh, to determine the impacts of Bt brinjal on pest infestation, pesticide use, crop yields, costs, revenues, and self-reported health outcomes. The study shows exciting results of how Bt brinjal can lead to real improvements in the lives of farmers.
