WFP Chad Country Brief, December 2020 (Relief Web)

January 20, 2021

Relief Web published an article stating that the Chadian Government, due to recent spikes in COVID-19, have closed the capital city, the airport, and the country’s borders. This lockdown has meant citizens of Chad are food insecure, and in a health and financial crisis. Chronic malnutrition is also high, affecting one in three children in Chad. The Government of Chad with several international organizations including IFPRI are collaborating in the development of the home-grown school feeding program. The program aims to provide school children with healthy, varied, and complete-diet school meals prepared using local farm products.
