Erick Boy

Erick Boy is the Chief Nutritionist in the HarvestPlus section of the Innovation Policy and Scaling Unit. As head of nutrition for the HarvestPlus Program since 2008, he has led research that has generated scientific evidence on biofortified staple crops as efficacious and effective interventions to help address iron, vitamin A, and zinc deficiency in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and South Asia.

Beyond COVID-19: Recommendations from Five Years of Policy Research in Egypt and Directions for the Future

The event presents key findings and policy recommendations based on research and capacity building activities conducted by IFPRI and its Egyptian partners under the USAID-funded Evaluating Impact and Building Capacity (EIBC) project. It informs Egypt’s post-COVID-19 development agenda, presents a digital monitoring tool (MAP Egypt) and identifies directions for future policy research collaborations.

This virtual policy research symposium focuses on three areas:

• Promoting food system transformation and resilience post-COVID 19

• Digitalization of agricultural services and policy analysis

• Agriculture and social protection for improving health and nutrition
