IFPRI is pleased to participate in the 31th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP31) being held in Antalya, Türkiye from November 9 to November 20, 2025. COP31 (31st Conference of the Parties) is the latest session of the supreme decision-making body of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Its core purpose is to bring countries together to strengthen global climate action, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and accelerate the transition toward a sustainable and low-carbon future.
At COP31, international climate frameworks such as the Paris Agreement and earlier mechanisms like the Kyoto Protocol continue to guide negotiations. The primary objective remains to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels while advancing a resilient and carbon-neutral global economy.
