Launch of the Africa Agriculture Trade Monitor (AATM) 2025

Noom Hotel Dakar Sea Plaza | Dakar, Senegal

December 16, 2025

  • 12:00 – 2:00 pm (Africa/Dakar)
  • 7:00 – 9:00 am (US/Eastern)
  • 5:30 – 7:30 pm (Asia/Kolkata)

AKADEMIYA2063 and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), in partnership with AGRA, are convening a hybrid launch event to unveil and discuss the findings of the Africa Agriculture Trade Monitor (AATM) 2025.

This annual publication monitors and highlights trends in African agrifood trade, including intra-African trade, the continent’s participation in global trade, insights into the composition of trade flows and the nutritional content, and the trade-food security nexus.

The 2025 AATM also focuses on the rice value chain and fertilizer trade, and assesses how the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is reshaping trade among regional economic communities (RECs) and driving continental integration.

The AATM is produced and published under the African Growth and Development Policy (AGRODEP) Modeling Consortium and the Regional Strategic Analysis and Knowledge Support System (ReSAKSS) programs, as a collaborative effort by AKADEMIYA2063 and IFPRI. It builds on the work of both organizations in support of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) and Africa’s broader development agenda. The annual flagship report is the only publication dedicated exclusively to African agricultural trade and policies and serves as an important resource on Africa’s agricultural trade in regional and global markets and across selected value chains, using high-quality, sector-relevant statistics.
