Meet a Researcher
Harriet Mawia is a Research Officer in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit who conducts research on socioeconomics and gender policy issues using applied econometric analysis. Her focus is on gender equality and the empowerment of women in agriculture for economic development, food security, and improved livelihoods in Africa. Before joining IFPRI, Harriet was a consultant with the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) and a research assistant at the World Agroforestry Center.
